Hi, I’m Bonnie.

I'm a Registered Midwife, Founder and Director of Inner Calm Birthing

Based in Taunton, I provide one-to-one home birth midwifery care across Somerset and Devon, supporting families throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postnatal period, all in the comfort of your own home.

That means you'll see the same independent midwife (me!), for every appointment, and I'll be right there with you for your home birth and the early weeks with your baby.

Your care is always centered around you, grounded in trusting your body, your choices, and the wonder of physiological birth, supported by evidence-based midwifery care and ongoing personalised support.

Together, we'll create a relaxed, safe space where you can feel confident, informed, and ready as you prepare to welcome your newest family member.

When you have continuity of care and build a relationship with your midwife, you’re more likely to feel listened to, involved and supported in the decisions you make. Feeling informed and involved in your care can have a real impact on how you experience your pregnancy and birth, and there’s good evidence behind this too. Continuity of midwifery care is associated with better outcomes, including a higher chance of spontaneous vaginal birth, lower rates of caesarean and instrumental birth, and more positive experiences of care.

Midwives are experts in physiological pregnancy and birth. We’re trained to understand how things should progress, recognise when they begin to deviate from an uncomplicated pregnancy or birth, and know when another specialist’s expertise is needed.

When that happens, we work alongside the wider maternity team, bringing in the right expertise at the right time. Because good care isn’t about one person knowing everything, it’s about knowing who is best placed to help when you need them. And recognising that is a key part of our training and what keeps you and your baby safe.
